About Us - Company History

1995
GB Copier Systems Ltd incorporated on 1st April by Directors Tim Griffin & Rob Booth to serve the needs of commercial businesses and organisations in copiers printers and related office products - recognising that service provision experienced locally could be improved to the benefit of many end users.

1997 saw the acquisition of the Sharp Centre (Stoke) and the appointment of GB as a National Account Service provider recognising quality service delivery.

1999 welcomed SBM (Telford) into the fold renaming the company SBM (GB) Ltd focussing on digital development in Telford and Shrewsbury. Sutton has since gone back to its roots and stands under its own trading name.

1999 GB Recruitment Ltd was founded to expand the directors interests in the total office solution -in the provision of goods, services and personnel. Burton office has been successfully providing Industrial and Commercial staff to East Staffs and Derby districts for 5 years now and continues to develop.

2000 GB Recruitment (Staffs) Ltd was founded in Hanley to specialise in Education supply. Under the leadership of Christopher Marriott - himself a teacher for 15 years -  GB are recognised by the REC and GB now hold the Kite Mark for quality in procedures and systems. GB is also an appointed CRB umbrella body, providing Criminal Records checking to Organisations nationwide.

2000 1st Choice Business Machines Ltd (37 Years trading) was acquired to enhance service provision in the Walsall, Wolves and Birmingham. Portfolio extended to include Digital Dictation and Transcription equipment.

2003 GB and 1st Choice merge.
GB acquire new Head Office - Waterloo House, Burslem – putting down firm roots in occupying a convenient site on the A50.

2004 GB Recruitment acquire new offices in Newcastle occupying a prominent site on the A34.
GB Copier Systems open Wolverhampton service point on Goodyear site.
